Our Team

A company is only as good as its leadership.  Our leadership team at Vendors Supply consists of managers who have been part of our company since its beginnings as well as managers who have had impressive experience with other highly successful organizations and businesses.

This blend of leadership allows us to remain current with "best business practices" and advances in technology.  At the same time, we are committed to preserving the treasured "cultural" elements and values that have always defined us.

Executives

James Sikes
Founder (Deceased)

Jim Sikes served in the Marine Corps in Korea.   When he returned, he found employment in the bakery business and realized there was a need for a vending supplies distribution company that would better serve vending machine operators by stocking and delivering vending machine products on a reliable regularly scheduled basis.  Initially using his carport in Columbia, South Carolina as a warehouse and an old pickup as his delivery truck, Jim's entrepreneurial skills allowed him to rapidly become a successful vending machine products distributor.

In 2009, Jim retired at the age of 79, and his son, Randy Sikes, assumed the duties of President and Chief Executive Officer. Ronnie Stokes, Jim Sikes’ Son-in-Law, now serves as Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer.  James Sikes passed away in September of 2013.

Randy Sikes
President & CEO

Randy Sikes is president and CEO of Vendors Supply. He assumed this position after the retirement of his father, company founder, Jim Sikes, in 2009.  From loading trucks in the warehouse to driving trucks and making deliveries to customers, Randy has been a part of Vendors Supply for most of his life.  Randy is a  graduate of the University of South Carolina. He enjoys outdoor activities such as  fishing, hunting, kayaking, biking and gardening in his free time. He and his wife, Kathy have two daughters and three grandchildren. Randy has a great appreciation for the foundation laid by his father in the vending distribution business and strives to carry on that legacy.

Ronnie Stokes
Vice President & CFO

Ronnie Stokes was in the banking industry for approximately 15 years before assuming his position at Vendors Supply.  He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina where he earned an MBA with a concentration in finance.  He has been married to his wife Debbie (nee Sikes) for 37 years.  They have a son and a daughter and one grandson.  He used to enjoy hunting and jogging, but more recently prefers to spend time at their getaway in the mountains.

Ed Henderson
Controller

Ed Henderson began his career managing a sporting goods store and a dive shop in Tallahassee, FL, where, in 1968, he authored a three-page article on best business practices, in the national magazine, Selling Sporting Goods.  In 1969, he was the founding program director of a not-for-profit organization, now known as AMIKids, headquartered in Tampa, FL. He was with AMI for 21 years, serving as Executive VP and CFO for 12 of those years and helping the organization grow to more than thirty branches throughout the Southeast by applying sound business practices.  The organization is still growing and has helped more than 150,000 troubled youth become contributing members of society.

In 1994, Ed switched to the for-profit arena and became the Controller of a large rapidly growing, family owned, telecommunications manufacturing business which eventually was acquired by a fortune 500 company.  Ed continued to serve as Division Controller.  After a short retirement, Ed and his wife Anne, of almost 50 years, moved to Columbia, SC to be closer to family.  Out of boredom, in 2009, he applied for and was hired as Controller of Vendors Supply.  He is using his accounting and computer skills to help Vendors Supply, continue to be the most customer-centric vending, micro-market and OCS distributor in the Eastern US.  He has not yet determined when he will retire for the second time.
