Vendor's Supply was founded in 1964 by James H. Sikes. Sikes, a former U.S. Marine and bakery manager, saw the need for a vending supplies distribution company that would better serve vending machine operators by stocking and delivering vending machine products on a reliable regularly scheduled basis. Initially using his carport in Columbia, South Carolina as a warehouse and an old pickup as his delivery truck, Sikes rapidly became a successful vending machine products distributor, moving several times into larger facilities as his business grew, and eventually into the present office and warehouse complex, which today also serves as the Corporate Office for his family’s multi-million dollar company with six Regional Distribution Centers located in six States (see map). Vendors Supply has become the premier vending distributor in these regions.

Vendors Supply, Inc. routinely places in South Carolina's top 100 privately owned companies, and James Sikes has received the prestigious Ernst & Young "Entrepreneur of the Year" award.

In 2009, Randy Sikes, son of James Sikes, took over the duties of President and Chief Executive Officer. Ronnie Stokes now serves as Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer. James Sikes, at age 80, is still active with the Company and serves as its Chairman of the Board.
